A cheque distribution ceremony was organized for the artisans of Kot Abdul Malik, Lahore, wherein cheques were distributed amongst the loanees. Mr. Bilal Yaseen, Minister for Food was the chief guest of the occasion.
A Family Festival was arranged at Hiran Minar, Sheikhupura. PSIC organized a stall where a large number of handicraft were displayed. The “Artisans at work” show was also arranged. Rana Tanvir Ahmed, Federal Minister also visited the PSIC stall.
PSIC organized Crafts & Cultural Gala in the honour of Mr. Kader Topbaz, Mayor of Istambul, Turkey on his arrival at the Atchison College Lahore on the 18th of February, 2016. The honourable guests showed his keen interest in the cultural heritage of Pakistan and appreciated the craftsmanship of artisans.
PSIC participated in Orange Festival at Taxila on the 21st of February, 2016 and arranged a stall to display traditional craft of Taxila.
Mr. Pervaiz Rasheed, Federal Minister for Information, Culture and Tourism was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The Honourable Ambassadors of 15 countries along with important dignitaries attended the event. The participants appreciated the PSIC initiative regarding revival of crafts of Taxila and interventions and design development. PSIC presented the books on crafts of Taxila to the honourable guests and Ambassadors.
1- PSIC participated in the 1st International ROCK SALT EXPORT AND TOURISM festival at Khewra held on 29th of Jan, 2016. A large number of people participated in the festival. PSIC shared its experience contributed in design development of traditional crafts of Khewra and Capacity Building of the Artisans. PSIC has since published a book on crafts of Khewra that was presented to the distinguished guests. The participants appreciated the PSIC efforts contributed in the development and promotion of craft of Khewra.
